How to Use
PaletteCore Ai generates comprehensive color palette systems based on your brand color using the OKLCH color space. All generated colors are optimized for both light and dark themes, with accessibility considerations built in.
Basic Usage:
- Select a color: Use the color picker or manually enter a HEX value (supports 3-digit, 6-digit, and 8-digit with alpha channel).
- View palettes: The system automatically generates multiple color series including primary, secondary, accent, neutral, and semantic colors.
- Copy colors: Click on any color swatch to copy its value to your clipboard in the currently selected format.
- Switch format: Use the format switcher in the header to view and copy colors in HEX, RGB, HSL, or OKLCH format.
- Filter categories: Use the category buttons to filter and focus on specific color series types.
Advanced Features:
- Edit colors: Click the "Edit" button on any color series to enter edit mode, then click on individual colors to bring up the color picker.
- Accessibility indicators: Each color displays contrast ratio badges (AAA, AA, or Fail) for both white and black backgrounds, helping you choose accessible colors.
- Reset changes: When editing, use the "Reset" button to restore individual colors or entire series to their original values.
- Export palette: Use the export feature to download your color palette in JSON, LESS, or CSS format with options for separate or combined themes.
- Alpha transparency: Enter 8-digit HEX values (#RRGGBBAA) to use colors with transparency, useful for overlays and gradients.
Color Series Types:
- Primary: Your main brand colors, used for primary actions and key UI elements.
- Secondary: Complementary colors for less dominant elements and secondary actions.
- Accent: Highlight colors that draw attention to specific UI elements.
- Neutral: Grayscale colors optimized to pair perfectly with your brand colors, ideal for text and backgrounds.
- Semantic: Status colors (success, warning, error, info) harmonized with your brand's aesthetic.
- Extended: Additional color options that coordinate with your primary palette for data visualization or UI variety.
Tip: For the best results, start with a vibrant, saturated color as your brand color. The system will automatically generate appropriate tints and shades while maintaining color harmony.
